Cricket Match Predictions Emirates D20: ECB Blues and Dubai Pulse Secure- Match 33
The 33rd match of the Emirates D20 Tournament will be played between Dubai Pulse Secure and ECB Blues at the ICC Cricket Academy, Dubai.
The two teams that are fighting for the 3rd place in the tournament are ECB Blues and Dubai Pulse Secure. ECB Blues started out very well in the tournament but lost its touch in the last few games. Had it not been about their loss against Sharjah Bukhatir XI yesterday, they would have been playing in the final.
Against Sharjah Bukhatir XI, they won the toss and elected to bat first. ECB Blues could not have asked for a better start as their opening pair put on a partnership of 105 runs for the first wicket. Fahad Nawaz scored 38 important runs before falling prey to Mohammad Boota. After his dismissal, Vriitya Aravind and Alishan Sharafu took charge and belted the Sharjah Bukhatir XI bowlers all around the ground and at one point they looked to score more than 180. However, Vriitya Aravind got out in the 17th over after scoring a wonderful 79 off 53 balls. After Aravind got dismissed, ECB Blues lost the plot a little and ended up making 170 runs in 20 overs.
170 is a highly competitive total in the tournament so far and Sharjah Bukhatir XI would have to play their best version in order to beat ECB Blues. The opening pair showed intent right from the beginning but both Renjth Mani and Khalid Shah got dismissed within the powerplay overs, leaving their side in trouble. After the fall of 2 wickets, Kashif Daud and Fayyaz Ahmed got together for a commendable partnership of 129 runs for the 3rd wicket and almost sealed the game for their team. Fayyaz Ahmed scored a match winning captain’s knock of 84 in 46 deliveries while Kashif Daud made 55 runs in 30 balls. In the end, Sharjah Bukhatir XI easily won the game by 6 wickets.
Dubai Pulse Secure also managed to lose the game against Fujairah Pacific Ventures yesterday. After winning the toss, they chose to field first against Fujairah. The openers started off well for Fujairah collecting 58 runs for the opening partnership. After Rohan Mustafa and Waseem Muhammad departed, Muhammad Usman took over the responsibility to take Fujairah past a decent total. He hit 2 huge sixes in the innings of 32 runs. After he was dismissed by Rahul Bhatia, a surprise batting collapase happened and Fujairah slipped from 100 for 2 in 13 overs to 131 for 7 in 20 overs. They scored just 30 runs in their last 7 overs and lost the opportunity to score big. Omer Farooq and Tahir Latif were the pick of the bowlers taking 2 wickets each for Dubai Pulse Secure.
Dubai Pulse Secure would have been the happier side going into the dressing room given they had to chase just 131 in 20 overs. They started cautiously as Adnaan Khan and Syed Haider looked for singles in the powerplay overs with an odd boundary. Adnaan Khan was dismissed in the 6th over by Akif Raja. Post his dismissal, the run rate dropped significantly and that resulted in a series of wickets to fall. At one point, Dubai were reduced to 60 for 4 in the 14th over, needing 70+ runs in less than 7 overs. It was a tough task, although Omer Farooq lit some hope with his cameo of 29 runs in 18 deliveries. In the end, they found themselves short by 15 runs after scoring 115 in 20 overs.
