Odisha Panthers have been dominating the tournament with 4 wins to their name in 4 matches played. In the last game they played against Odisha Tigers, they won the toss and decided to field first. Basant Mohanty and Jayanta Behera bowled tight lines in the powerplay overs and did not allow Odisha Tigers batsmen to let lose. Jayanta Behera provided the first breakthrough in the form of Ayush Naik who scored a cautious 26 off 35 deliveries. He was soon followed into the pavilion by Debasish Ashok Samantray who was cleaned up by Shubham Nayak for 13. There was a regular fall of wickets at one end while Dibyashakti Chakrabarty held the other end tight with his 26 off 29 balls before being run out in an awful manner. This innings lacked any momentum and could not really add to zeal to the innings. In the end, Odisha Tigers finished with the total of 126 for 9 in 20 overs. Alok Chandra Sahoo was the star of the show with the ball as he picked up 3 wickets in his spell for Odisha Panthers.

Chasing 126, Panthers lost Alok Chandra Sahoo early on in the innings when he was cleaned up by Sanjay Das. Binit Mohanty came in at number 3 and steadied the ship with Ankit Singh stitching a partnership of 25 runs for the 2^nd wicket before Ankit Singh was dismissed. Abhishek Yadav was sent at number 4 and he looked like he was playing on a completely different pitch. He started hitting boundaries from the word go and ensured that Panthers were never behind the required run rate. He scored 55 off 36 deliveries that included 3 maximums. He stayed unbeaten in the end to take his team home by 7 wickets.

Odisha Jaguars on the other hand have lost 3 games so far with one being abandoned. They are sitting at the bottom of the points table and looking in all sorts of trouble.

In the last completed game against Odisha Tigers, they won the important toss and asked Tigers to have a bat first. Manoj Kashyap got Jaguars off to the dream start with the ball as he removed both the openers within the powerplay overs. Amin Khan and Girija Barik soon followed the suit after scoring  3 and 5 runs respectively. Debasish Ashok Samantray held one end by scoring 30 runs off 28 balls and looked desperate to enter into an important partnership but he kept losing partners at crunch times. After he was dismissed, Rajkishan Patel took charge and played a sensible innings of 44 runs in 34 deliveries to take his team to a respectable total of 128 in 20 overs.

Defending 128, B Shilva provided the early breakthrough by claiming the prized wickets of Nirbishankar Barik and Sunil Sahoo. Girija Rout at number 3 tried to steady the ship with his 26 off 41 but the matters only got worse once Rajkishan Patel was introduced into the attack. He ran through the middle order and claimed the wickets of Abhijit Barik and Lagnajit Samal to create immense pressure onto the opposition. Kshyama Bal provided some hope to Jaguars’ chase by scoring 30 runs off 18 deliveries but Sanjay Das ended his innings and Jaguar’s hope to win the match. In the end, Jaguars were restricted to 100 for 9 in their 20 overs, losing the match by 28 runs. Rajkishan Patel was adjudged the man of the match for his all round performance.
