Cricket Scotland lift Majid Haq's suspension
Cricket Scotland, has decided to lift the suspension of spinner Majid Haq, who was excluded from the World Cup squad, midway through the tournament earlier this year.
According to the latest development, Haq is now available for selection for Scotland’s upcoming international fixtures.
After a disappointing performance in the first four matches of the 2015 World Cup, Haq was dropped after having snared just three wickets.
A series of tweets from the 32-year-old on the social media that was racial in content led to Haq’s unceremonious sacking from the World Cup squad with immediate effect at that point of time.
Even though, Haq had deleted the controversial post within a short while after he had published it, but the damage had already been done.
Cricket Scotland have declared the matter closed and henceforth there will not be any continuation on this incident.
With 60 wickets from 54 One-Day Internationals at an average of 32.91, Haq is Scotland’s leading wicket-taker in the format.
