Leicestershire v Derbyshire

Result – Leicestershire won by 81 runs

Leicestershire are CHAMPIONS!

They took the final 7 wickets to complete the win and take the championship. Taylor and Griffiths each took three wickets as they knocked over the top order. The Derbyshire tail wagged but eventually they ran out of momentum just before Parkinson took the final wicket to the delight of his team mates.

 

Middlesex v Sussex

Middlesex  273 (Andersson 45, Meaker 4/56, Crocombe 4/76) & 172 (Robson 43, Garton 9/71)

Sussex 303/7dec (Garton 118*, Rawlins 104*, Murtagh 4/72) & 148/2 (Haines 66*, Salt 47)

Result – Sussex won by 8 wickets

George Garton took a career best 9/71 to continue his quite astonishing game. After hitting his first century of the Virtual County Championship he could hardly have hoped to better that performance but that's exactly what he did. Garton bowled with aggression and skill to give his side just 143 to chase for victory. Salt made 47 and Haines 66* to give Sussex a winning end to the season.         

 

Durham v Nottinghamshire

Nottinghamshire  228 (Moores 52, Rushworth 3/69) & 246 (Hameed 80, Coughlin 5/50) & 93/3

Durham  284 (Bedingham 78, Eckersley 49, Mullaney 4/57) & 192/4 (Eckersley 55*, Burnham 47*)

Result – Durham won by 6 wickets          

Durham wrapped up victory with minimal fuss by six wickets. Eckersley finished on 55* and Burnham 47* as they finished the season on a winning note.       

 

Worcestershire v Glamorgan

Worcestershire  209 (D'Oliveira 54, de Lange 4/75, Hogan 4/82) & 165 (de Lange 7/88)

Glamorgan  332/7dec (Carlson 99, Cooke 85, Humphrey 62, Root 50) & 44/4       

Result -  Glamorgan won by 6 wickets

Marchant de Lange destroyed the Worcestershire line-up claiming 7/88 for eleven wickets in the match. He bowled with pace and hostility as he ran through the batters at will and in doing so he set up the victory for his team. Captain Cooke hit the winning runs before tea on day 3 to the delight of their travelling supporters.
