Stuart Broad finished with 9 wickets in the match and was well supported as the ripped Worcestershire out for 164, only Ben Cox passed 50. Nottinghamshire will jump off the bottom of the table with this much needed victory.
Sussex 319/8dec (Jordan 83*, Haines 70, Conners 4/79) & 227/9dec (Jordan 69, Bopara 60, Conners 3/79)
Derbyshire 146 (Hudson-Prentice 47, Archer 6/74) & 265 (Du Plooy 67, Briggs 3/39)
Result – Sussex won by 135 runs
Sussex wrapped up the victory here at Arundel Castle with a day to spare. They declared just before lunch asking Derbyshire to make 401 to win which always seemed a little unlikely and so it proved. Madsen and Du Plooy looked to give the visitors some control but meaningful partnerships were few and far between.
This is a much needed victory for the home side and this will see them climb the table after this.
