Virtual County Championship - DIVISION TWO
Worcestershire v Middlesex
Worcestershire 324/8dec (Mitchell 88, Murtagh 3/95)
Worcestershire had a very good day having won the toss they chose to bat first. Mitchell and Libby edged up towards the century stand before the latter fell which sparked a flurry of wickets.
Mitchell 88 and the middle order steadied the ship however and they finished in a strong position at the end of day on 324/8.
Glamorgan v Derbyshire
Derbyshire 256 (Reece 68, Palladino 58, de Lange 4/81)
Derbyshire made 256 before reducing the hosts to 40/4 at the close. The match started with a wicket and closed with one as the ball dominated the bat.
In and amongst all that both Reece and Palladino played nicely for their half centuries but the bowlers extracted bounce and movement from the wicket all day long.
Derbyshire will hope to be able to keep that going tomorrow in the field.
Leicestershire v Durham
Leicestershire 324/9dec (Horton 67, Hill 62, Dearden 59, Raine 5/82)
Leicestershire continued their good form on day 1 here at the Fischer County Ground. They made 324/9 before declaring late on. Most of the batters got in with Horton, Hill and Dearden all passing 50.
Ben Raine took 5 wickets on his return to his former county but it'll be Leicestershire who will be the happiest after day 1.
Nottinghamshire v Sussex
Nottinghamshire 295 (Duckett 83, Broad 50, Robinson 4/89)
Nottinghamshire just about edged day 1. Having won the toss and electing to bat first they made steady progress throughout the first two sessions, Ben Duckett making 83. But the introduction of Robinson (4/89) changed the course of the day as his bounce and accuracy unsettled the middle order of the Notts line-up.
Stuart Broad came to the rescue making 50 alongside Jake Ball they shared a 50 partnership for the last wicket, then the latter struck late to reduce Sussex to 33/1 at the close.
