Virtual County Championship - DIVISION TWO
Worcestershire v Middlesex
Match Summary
Worcestershire 324/8dec (Mitchell 88, Murtagh 3/95) & 200 (Cox 47, Tongue 40, Finn 3/44)
Middlesex 311/9dec (Robson 66, Harris 55*, Leach 7/113) & 94/5
This game remains very tight. Worcestershire were bundled out for 200 as they struggled to make that big score to put the game safe, Cox and Tongue made 40's with Steven Finn taking 3/44.
Worcestershire then reduced the visitors to 94/5 by the close, requiring Middlesex to score a further 120 runs to win tomorrow.
Glamorgan v Derbyshire
Derbyshire 256 (Reece 68, Palladino 58, de Lange 4/81) & 315 (du Plooy 100, Madsen 68, Hughes 59, Salter 3/62)
Glamorgan 186 (Carlson 105*, Conners 4/41, Rampaul 4/65) & 185/7 (Cooke 68*)
Derbyshire put themselves on the brink, needing just three more wickets for victory. Leus du Plooy scored his first century of the season whilst helping his team open up a huge lead. Alex Hughes supported him with 59 as the Glamorgan bowlers toiled.
Their batters didn't fair much better once the declaration came in fact only captain Cooke (68*) was able to offer anything of note. His side require 200 more for an unlikely victory tomorrow.
Leicestershire v Durham
Match Summary
Leicestershire 324/9dec (Horton 67, Hill 62, Dearden 59, Raine 5/82) & 232 (Hill 55, Wood 4/80, Stokes 3/12)
Durham 301 (Lees 123, Eckersley 50, Ackermann 3/60) & 99/5 (Taylor 3/45)
Today was moving day as both Leicestershire and then Durham had wobbles. Leicestershire were removed for 232 in their 2nd innings, only Hill went past 50 as the Durham pair of Wood (4/80) and Stokes (3/12) did most of the damage, leaving Durham requiring 255 to win.
It was their turn then to lose a cluster of wickets as they finished the day 99/5. It promises to be fascinating tomorrow.
Nottinghamshire v Sussex
Match Summary
Nottinghamshire 295 (Duckett 83, Broad 50, Robinson 4/89) & 306 (Patel 79, Nash 79,Slater 57, Archer 4/81)
Sussex 269 (van Zyl 56, Ball 8/89) & 74/3 (Haines 49*, Broad 3/35)
Nottinghamshire have put themselves in a very strong position to earn a well-deserved and much needed victory. Patel and Nash both made 79 to give the innings some good substance after looking like they may throw a good position away.
Archer was the lead bowler taking 4/81. At the close Sussex were 74/3 requiring a further 258 runs to win.
