PCB announces departures of Haroon Rashid and Agha Zahid

Chief curator Agha Zahid and Haroon Rashid, Director – Domestic Cricket, will leave the Pakistan Cricket Board when their contracts expire on 30 April and 31 May, respectively.

Haroon was re-employed in April 2017. Prior to his reappointment, Haroon had served the PCB in various roles including chief selector, Pakistan senior and junior national teams’ coach and manager, head of youth game development and acting head of the National Cricket Academy.

Who would have predicted that: Martin Crowe's opening salvo outfoxes Aussies in 1992 World Cup opener

In our new feature series - Who would have predicted that? – we are looking back at matches where there were big upsets or extraordinary individual performances that turned matches on their head.

It was the tournament's opening clash between the co-hosts of the Benson & Hedges World Cup, New Zealand and Australia, in 1992. Australia, who were out to defend their 1987 title, were tested to the hilt by the Kiwis as they won the match by 37 runs.

For sports fans, it complicates the situation further that there's no live sporting action, nothing at all, and they have to live off the highlight crumbs.
