Bogliasco vs Bergamo Cricket Club, Match 4, ECS T10 Milan

Live Scores, Statistics & Graphs

Bogliasco won by 5 wickets

MATCH 4 - Bogliasco vs Bergamo CC

Bermago CC were runners-up at ECS Rome held in September last year, and enter ECS Milan with a reputation.

Both Rakesh Kumar Banga and Sonu Lal performed consistently with the bat for Bermago Cricket Club in 2020. If they are able to find their rhythm, which certainly would have been disrupted due to the forced break brought due to the pandemic, Bermago Cricket Club are in good hands.

Chetan Kumar was Bermago Cricket Club's top wicket taker in 2020 and is expected to do well this year as well. Narinder Gidda is expected to do a good job for Bermago Cricket Club as their top all-rounder.

Bogliasco are making their European Cricket Series debut.

The success or failure of Bogliasco Cricket Club in European Cricket Series Milan will depend upon two players - Upul Nandana and Amila Viraj. If the all-rounders fire, they are likely to see through Bogliasco Cricket Club to the semis.

Sandesh Hansaja Disandul was the top run scorer for Bogliasco Cricket Club in 2020. With the team having played little cricket this year due to the Covid-19 pandemic, only if Disandul can find his timing, Bogliasco Cricket Club will have little cause for worry.

While Ralph Fernando will do a job with the ball as well, Madupa Fernando is likely to end as the top wicket taker for Bogliasco Capannelle Cricket Club.

PJ Moor joins Munster Reds squad; Neil Rock moves to Northern Knights

Cricket Ireland has today confirmed that Zimbabwe international wicketkeeper-batter Peter “PJ” Moor will play club cricket in Ireland this summer, and has agreed to join the Munster Reds inter-provincial squad for the 2021 season. Concurrently, Neil Rock has moved to replace the retired Gary Wilson as the Northern Knights’ wicketkeeper.

Harare-born Moor, 30, holds an Irish passport and has previously played club cricket in Ireland for YMCA and CIYMS. He has represented Zimbabwe in eight Tests, 49 ODIs and 21 T20Is, and was part of the Zimbabwean Men’s squad that played a six-match white ball series against Ireland in 2019.

The move means Neil Rock, previously announced as part of the Munster Reds squad for this season, can now make the move north and join the Northern Knights – a team he has represented in various formats since 2018. Rock will fill the wicketkeeping role left vacant by the recent retirement of Gary Wilson.

Andrew White, Chair of National Men’s Selectors, said:

It goes without saying that PJ Moor’s quality and his broad experience – and time spent previously in Ireland – will be a valuable addition to the Inter-Provincial Series for this season. PJ has performed at the highest levels of the game, and he will offer a great deal to the young Munster squad.”

“This also allows Pebbles Neil Rock to return to the Knights and fill the gap left by Gary Wilson’s retirement.”

“This development adds further interest to what is shaping up to be an intriguing inter-provincial series, which will only raise the standards of the competition and should additionally provide some tough, competitive cricket for our elite players ahead of the internationals.”

South Africa vs Pakistan: South Africa win by by 17 runs and Fakhar fireworks light up the Pink Day 2nd ODI

On a perfect ODI surface at Wanderers, Johannesburg, South Africa pipped Pakistan to level the series at 1-1, with a final game to play. The tourists, with the exception of left-handed opener, Fakhar Zaman, who played a heroic innings of 193, could not quite turn it on. In the end the margin was just 17 runs.

Match Summary

South Africa 341/6 (50 ov)

Pakistan 324/9 (50 ov)

South Africa won by 17 runs.

SCORECARD

Since it had worked for Pakistan in the opening game at Centurion Babar won the toss and sent the Proteas in. It was a case of an unchanged line up, just like their opposition. A relaxed Pakistan who had squeezed through the last game, were quietly confident with the aim to wrap the series up. Their new ball bowlers - Shaheen Afridi and Mohammad Hasnain – are both due to turn 21 in the next few days.

The second-wicket stand between Quinton de Kock and Temba Bavuma, the ex and current South Africa ODI captains respectively, showed how good the jigsaw-look Wanderers wicket was worth 300 plus. De Kock was the first to get to his fifty and played on to his stumps, having hit 80 (86 balls, 10 fours, 1 six). Bavuma was kept quiet by the Pakistan bowlers for a 5-6 overs phase but once he found his feet, he played pleasing orthodox strokes and on-drive through wide of mid-on got him to an impressive 50 off 68 balls. Always good to lead from the front and his 92 was to be the top score today.
