Cricket World Player of the Week - Harshal Patel
Harshal Patel became the third RCB bowler to bag a hat-trick in the IPL when he dismissed Hardik Pandya, Kieron Pollard and Rahul Chahar off consecutive deliveries.
There are several hat-tricks in T20 cricket which happen when the batsmen are trying to swing for the hills. However, this one from Harshal Patel involved a lot of skill.
The match was well set up with Mumbai needing 61 off the last 24 balls with 5 wickets still in the bank and Hardik Pandya and Kieron Pollard at the crease.
On the first (technically the second, first was a wide) ball of the 17th over, Patel bowled an off cutter on full length. Hardik Pandya tried to swipe across the line and skied it, only to be caught by Virat Kohli.
On the next delivery, it was a brain fade from Kieron Pollard who moved across the crease and then missed the flick on another off cutter which castled him. On the third ball, Rahul Chahar was unable to pick another off cutter and was dismissed lbw.

In a matter of three deliveries, Patel changed the face of the game against a destructive Mumbai Indians batting line-up and took Bangalore to victory by 54 runs.
Patel is currently leading the wicket charts in IPL 2021 with 23 scalps from 10 matches at an average of 13.56 and an economy rate of 8.58.
