For recording scores of 104 and 65 for his franchise Kings XI Punjab in the ongoing edition of Indian Premier League, South Africa batsman Hashim Amla is the Cricket World Player of the Week.

In the 22nd game of the tournament against Mumbai Indians at Rajkot, Amla slammed his maiden T20 century that came off just 58 deliveries. His knock included eight boundaries and six maximums as he powered Kings XI Punjab to 198 for four in the 20 overs. However, his innings went in vain as Jos Buttler's 77 and Nitish Rana's 62 ensued Mumbai Indians chased down the target in 15.3 overs with eight wickets in hand.

In the 26th game against Gujarat Lions, Amla plundered 40-ball 65 that was instrumental in Kings XI Punjab registering a 26-run victory.

David Warner's unbeaten 70 for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the 19th game got overshadowed by a 95-run knock from Manan Vohra but could not help his team cross the line.

Chris Gayle announced his form in the 20th game with a fluent 77 that took him over 10,000 runs in T20s while Virat Kohli also slammed a fifty to help Royal Challengers Bangalore secure a 21-run win against Gujarat Lions.

Kane Williamson's 89 and Shikhar Dhawan's 70 in the 21st game along with Suresh Raina's match-winning knock of 84 in the 23rd game and MS Dhoni's breathtaking finish with an unbeaten 34-ball 61 deserves special mention as well.

Also the 27th game saw Royal Challengers Bangalore record the lowest total in the history of the tournament, courtesy some splendid pace bowling from Nathan Coulter-Nile, Colin de Grandhomme and Chris Woakes. That concludes the performances of the week.
