For a match-winning effort for Pakistan against Zimbabwe in the first Twenty20 International of the series in Harare, Imad Wasim is the Cricket World Player of the Week.

In only his fourth T20 International, the 26-year-old left-arm spinner first contributed with the bat, with a valuable 12-ball 19, a cameo that helped add 46 runs for the sixth wicket pushing Pakistan to a total that presented them with at least an opportunity to fight.

With the ball, Wasim picked up wickets in the first over of the chase and then in the eighth, 10th and 12th overs breaking the backbone of the Zimbabwe top order.

He registered figures of four for 11 in his four overs and was also responsible for a run out.
There were other contenders in the same game - the only international between Full Members played this week.

Shoaib Malik and wicket-keeper Mohammad Rizwan both played important knocks for Pakistan, of 35 and 33 respectively, which helped push Pakistan to a modest total of 136 after a sluggish start.

Chamu Chibhabha was Zimbabwe’s best bowler with figures of three for 18.

The other contributor for Zimbabwe was their skipper, Elton Chigumbura, who provided a late spark to the chase with 31 but Zimbabwe fell short by 13 runs in the end.

That concludes our coverage of the best individual performances in cricket in the past week.
