Cricket World Player of the Week - Jos Buttler

Looks like pulling out of the second phase of IPL 2021 has done Jos Buttler a world of good as the England opener is looking hungrier than ever.
England have been dominant in the competition till now and finished at the top spot after the Super 12 stage in the ICC T20 World Cup 2021 Group 1 points table with 4 wins and one loss from their 5 matches.
As predicted before the beginning of the tournament, Jos Buttler is the top run-scorer for England with 240 runs at a strike rate of 155. He has struck 18 fours and 13 sixes.
Buttler has been breathing fire throughout but was particularly impressive against Sri Lanka as he smashed an unbeaten 101 off just 67 deliveries at a strike rate of 150 with 6 fours and 6 sixes to help England to a comfortable 26-run victory.
The England opener had been the leading run-scorer in the World Cup before being overtaken by Pakistan captain Babar Azam recently. With potentially two matches still to go, the wicket-keeper has a great chance of ending up with the golden bat in the competition.
Although his opening partner Jason Roy has been ruled out of the World Cup due to injury, England are not short of options with both Jonny Bairstow and Dawid Malan being readymade openers.
