Cricket World Player of the Week - Kagiso Rabada
Kagiso Rabada is currently leading the race for the Purple Cap with 19 wickets from just nine IPL matches. He has formed a formidable pair with fellow South African tearaway Anrich Nortje, with both sending down thunderbolts.
While Nortje has been the quicker of the two, Rabada has more wickets to show for. His death bowling has been phenomenal with impeccable use of yorkers and hit-the-deck deliveries.
This is why he has maintained an economy rate of below 8 RPO, which is gold dust in this format of the game.
Rabada has conceded 274 runs from 35.4 overs for Delhi Capitals in IPL 2020 and has even bowled a maiden over. This includes his best of 4/24 which took Delhi to a comfortable victory against Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Rabada has been equally good in the powerplay where he makes good use of quick deliveries at short of good length to dry down the run scoring. He then backs his yorkers in the death overs to come up trumps even against some of the most daunting big-hitters.
With pacers ruling the roost in the ongoing IPL, Rabada will have to continue playing a crucial role for Delhi Capitals for them to stake a claim for the IPL title.
