Ireland's Kevin O'Brien is the Cricket World Player of the Week. Although Ireland lost their inaugural Test match against Pakistan, Kevin O'Brien scored a debut Test hundred and Ireland’s first individual player Test century.
It was a historic occasion at Malahide CC, in Dublin, for Ireland’s first Test match and Mick Jagger, from the Rolling Stones, also caught some of the action, as the match unfolded.
Kevin O'Brien scored 118 not out to become Ireland's maiden Test centurion and although Ireland followed on, O'Brien shared a 114-run seventh-wicket partnership with Stuart Thompson and built a significant lead for Pakistan to chase down, which they did with 5 wickets to spare. He also picked up the Man of the Match Award for his outstanding performance.
Other notable performances of the week were from Jos Buttler (Rajasthan Royals) in the IPL , scoring 5 fifties in 6 matches, and Matt Henry (Kent) in the County Championship ( leading wicket taker)
