21-year-old Uttar Pradesh-born left-hand batter Yashasvi Jaiswal is currently the Orange Cap holder in IPL 2023 with 428 runs at 47.56.

The Rajasthan Royals batter has scored his runs at a strike rate of almost 160, with three half-centuries and the best of 124 which came against Mumbai Indians on Sunday, 30th April.

Jaiswal was in great form in domestic cricket before IPL 2023. He arrived in the competition with scores of 213 and 144 in the two innings of the Rest of India vs Madhya Pradesh match in the Irani Cup and has maintained his purple patch.

Jaiswal started off the IPL with a half-century against Hyderabad and clobbered another 60 against Delhi Capitals. Jaiswal has shown unbelievable consistency over the last fortnight with scores of 44 against LSG, 47 against RCB, 77 against CSK and a ton against MI in his last match.

Jaiswal has been particularly impressive in the powerplay. His strike rate of 165.69 is only behind Ajinkya Rahane (222.22) and Faf du Plessis (173.27) with a cut-off of 100 runs in the powerplay in IPL 2023.

Jaiswal even has a better strike rate than teammates Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson and Shimron Hetmyer in IPL 2023 which is an achievement unto itself. If he can carry his form, an India cap is not far away for the stylish left-hander.
