Dhawal Kulkarni has been called up as a replacement for Bhuvneshwar Kumar, who is returning home from India's tour of Australia with an ankle injury.

Bhuvneshwar was ruled out of the ongoing first Test and the Indian board (BCCI) have confirmed that he will head home to undergo a rehabilitation programme.

Kulkarni has played four One-Day Internationals and although he has featured in squads previously, has yet to make his Test debut.

After the end of the Adelaide Test tomorrow (13th December), India play Australia in Brisbane (17th-21st December), Melbourne (26th-30th December) and Sydney (6th-10th January).
