Dindigul Dragons' bowlers outsmart Chepauk Super Gillies to win season opener by 10 runs
Dindigul Dragons would certainly have been disappointed with a below-par score, but they would have known even after the end of the first innings, with the way things have panned out in the earlier seasons, that even 100 runs can be difficult to chase at times in this tournament.

G Periyaswamy drew first blood for Chepauk Super Gillies, dismissing Dindigul Dragons' opener Hari Nishanth in the second over. In a surprise move, skipper Ravichandran Ashwin came out to bat at number three for Dindigul Dragons and changed the momentum right away, slamming five fours and one six in his small but explosive knock of 37(19), going at a strike rate of close to 200.
However, following Ashwin's wicket, the Dindigul innings stumbled and could never get back to its feet, managing just 115-9 from their 20 overs. Dindigul Dragons would certainly have been disappointed with a below-par score, but they would have known even after the end of the first innings, with the way things have panned out in the earlier seasons, that even 100 runs can be difficult to chase at times in this tournament.
After early fireworks from R Ashwin and Chaturved, CSG spinners did well to contain DD through the middle overs. Can their batsmen see the chase through?
