Donovan Miller has worked hard over the recent years progressing his coaching career with Essex and various roles in the CPL (Caribbean Premier League), the latest being with St Kitts & Nevis Patriots as Head Coach in 2018 and he has stepped on here as well as he goes 'West Side' with the Vancouver Knights in the GT20 Canada as their Head Coach.

We caught up with Donovan prior to leaving for the tournament.

“It’s been a great five years in terms of my development as a young coach and I’ve learnt a great deal from my time with Essex and the Caribbean Premier League with St Kitts & Nevis Patriots and Jamaica Tallawahs” he commented.

He added “I’ve also recently been working with England and Andy Flower, as well as the squads preparing for the Hurricane Relief match, at Lords, between the ICC World XI and West Indies. I’m excited for the opportunity to join the Vancouver Knights as Head Coach and will be sure to let you know how we get on!”

Donovan will have Essex wicket-keeper, James Foster, as Assistant Coach for the duration of the tournament.

Our correspondent for the GT20 Canada Saksham Mishtra takes a look at the team he is going to coach.

“Over the years, Chris Gayle has become synonymous with cricket entertainment. The Universe Boss will lead the Vancouver Knights in the league. Equally popular Windies' all-rounder Andre Russell will form the backbone of the side, while Evin Lewis and Tim Southee would be the other big players who will hog the limelight.”
