Durham Cricket Foundation is proud to announce ChesterFest; the first free community festival with Hadrian's Tipi, live music, street cuisine, food stalls and entertainment for all the family.

The festival will take place in Riverside Park, Chester-le-Street on the Saturday June 22 (11am-9pm) and Sunday June 23 (11am-6pm) and will include a beer and food festival, plus a variety of brilliant live music over both days and cult band the Lake Poets - whose hit single ‘Shipyards’ was used as the intro track of the Sunderland football documentary on Netflix - headlining on the Saturday Night (6pm start).

The community event, the first of its kind, aims to offer local businesses and organisations the chance to showcase what they do.

We’re delighted to announce that a host of local companies have already signed up such as Bon Bons, Vibrant Hair & Beauty and Arty Party’s Craft Cabin, plus renowned businesses such as the Fat Hippo, Log Fire Pizza Co, Spud Gun Loaded Fries, the Northumbrian Sausage company and many more exciting stalls have all confirmed their attendance.

Durham Cricket Chief Executive, Tim Bostock, said: “Everyone at Durham Cricket is extremely excited for ChesterFest and we’re delighted to be able to provide such an inclusive event for the whole region.

“We have a busy year ahead and we’re proud to be hosting a number of inspiring events in Chester-le-Street - the festival is a great way to open what will be a fantastic summer.

“The aim is to showcase the region’s businesses and celebrate the local community with an event that offers high-quality food, drink and entertainment for all ages.

“We would like to thank Karbon Homes, Bellway and the Chester le Street Area action Partnership for their support.”
