Easton in Gordano Cricket Club Treasurer Keith Dickinson, Chairman Mike Farrell and President Merv Duck were the first people to be named as 2015 Cricket World Club & Ground Heroes earlier this week.
They were nominated for the award, sponsored by Dennis Mowers, Durant Cricket and SISIS Machinery, for ensuring that losing the roof of the club's pavilion in November 2013 did not mean the end of the road for the club.
Their hard work, dedication and passion finally came to fruition when the new pavilion was officially unveiled last Sunday (10th May).
Following the ceremony, England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) Chairman and President-Elect Giles Clarke presented the pair with their signed and frame Club & Ground Hero certificates - pictured on the right.
The Club & Ground Heroes awards have been set up to recognise that without the dedicated service of volunteers, administrators, contractors, tea ladies and groundsmen, cricket at a recreational level would not be possible.
"It is only through the hard work, dedication and passion exhibited by these three outstanding individuals that means that our club and future generations will have an amazing facility to match our picturesque ground," club captain Zac Coley said, paying tribute to their efforts.
If you would like to nominate somebody as a Club & Ground Hero, please fill in the form below and we will be in contact with you.
