All in all a good run out for England against a strong Sri Lankan XI that is rebuilding after a disastrous Asia Cup campaign. England managed to use 7 bowlers in the SLC XI innings with Moeen Ali 3-42, Ben Stokes 2-33 and Mark Wood 2-38 the pick and Dinesh Chandima 77 and Kamindu Mendis 61 the batsmen for Sri lanka XI.
In reply to the SLC XI 287 – 9, England had a raine affected run chase with Joe Root 90* and Eoin Morgan 91* dominating.
England will face a Sri Lanka Cricket XI again in another 50-over warm-up game at the same venue on Saturday.
