England Have A Chance Of Winning World Cup - Harmison

Former Durham and England fast bowler Steve Harmison believes England do have a chance of winning next year's World Cup although he expects Australia, India and South Africa to be the favourites.

Speaking to Cricket World at Lord's as England prepare to head to Sri Lanka, he previews the seven-match One-Day International series before moving on to talk about the World Cup.

He feels the tour of Sri Lanka will be beneficial for the squad as it packs in seven games in a short timeframe and will help the squad gel together.

At a press event marking the publication of his autobiography last week, Sachin Tendulkar gave England no chance of winning the World Cup, but Harmison disagrees.

"Everybody's got a chance," he says, before adding that England close their pool stage against teams they would expect to beat, which could help them build momentum going into the knockout phase.

"England have as good a chance as anybody," he added.

However, as much as doesn't like to admit it, he feels that Australia, along with India and South Africa, are the three teams most likely to be claiming the title next year.
