England hit back at Australia to finish the 2nd Day of 5th Ashes Test in the ascendancy
Another pulsating day’s cricket saw England adding just 23 runs to their overnight score of 271-8 and were all out for 294, Australian bowler Mitch Marsh finishing with 5-46.

However, the England bowlers hit back hard, bowling Australia out for just 225 in their 1st Innings - Jofra Archer 6-62 and Sam Curran 3-46 doing the damage – ‘that man’ Steve Smith top scored with 80 before being out LBW to Chris Woakes – he became the first player in cricket history to score 10 consecutive half centuries against the same opposition.
England closed the day on 9-0, after Joe Denly was dropped by Harris in the slips, with a lead of 78 runs.
