The two Test matches will form part of the ICC World Test Championship, and as such will each be worth 60 points.

The first Test will be played at the Galle International Stadium, the second in Colombo at the R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium.

Prior to the Test Series there will be two warm-up fixtures, a three-day full squad participation warm-up match and a four-day First-Class match. Both matches will be against the SLC Board President’s XI.

Joe Root's side currently sit fifth in the ICC World Test Championship table, on 56 points, after drawing the Specsavers Ashes series 2-2 this summer.
