England Pacer Amjad Khan Returning Home Early
England fast bowler Amjad Khan is to return home from the Caribbean prior to the final One Day International in St. Lucia for treatment on a cartilage injury.
The England & Wales Cricket Board website (www.ecb.co.uk) reported that Khan, who made both his Test and Twenty20 International debut earlier in the tour, had been ruled out of the match on Friday and would subsequently fly home.
The Danish-born seamer, called up as cover for Andrew Flintoff, made his Test debut in the fifth Test in Trinidad, going on to play in the Twenty20 International at the same venue in March.
He was not initially part of the ODI or Twenty20 International squad but remained with the team following the injury to Flintoff.
England yesterday announced that both Flintoff (thumb) and Kevin Pietersen (back) would be fit to play in the decisive ODI in St. Lucia.
The series is tied at 2-2.
