At the close of play on first day of the 1st Test between Sri Lanka and Englane, England are 321-8.
It was mixed fortunes for the England batsmen, Rory Burns, Moeen Ali (1st ball) and Ben Stokes all out cheaply and Keaton Jennings 46, Joe Root 35, Jos Buttler 38, Sam Curran 48 all getting a start but not converting it into a big score.
It was, however, Ben Foakes who starred for England with the bat on the first day and Dilruwan Perera 4-70 for Sri Lanka with the ball; which left England with a slight advantage at the close of play with 300+ runs on the board.
If England can get another 30-50 runs tomorrow, then the pressure will be on the Sri Lankan batsmen to step up and try and get a 1st innings advantage over England.
