Scorecard

InPlay – Day Four - Follow the day's play as it unfolded

The morning started with England requiring 203 runs to win but when Root went for 77, adding just 2 to his overnight score, it seemed that the Ashes were slipping away from England.

Jonny Bairstow, Jofra Archer and Jack Leach all played their part, with Ben Stokes, in edging England towards their improbable target and Australia missed a lot of opportunities (missed, catches, run outs and reviews),however, I've never witnessed an innings like Ben Stokes’ to win a Test match - It was simply awesome….

The Ashes is level at 1-1 with two Test matches to go… set up rather nicely now, don’t you think?
