Kent won the toss and decided to field against Essex, in this crucial Royal London One Day Cup fixture for Essex, at the Cloudfm County Ground, Chelmsford.

Result - Essex beat Kent by 153 runs

After being inserted, the Essex batsmen got off to an unfamiliar sluggish start and at 80-3 were looking in some trouble. However, Dan Lawrence (115), who scored his first List A hundred and Ravi Bopara (125) shared a fourth-wicket partnership of 187 reaching a total of 337-7 in their allotted overs.

In reply, Kent were all out for 184, mainly due to some excellent bowling from Jamie Porter (4-37) and Sam Cook.

By winning today,Essex booked themselves a One-Day Cup quarter-final home tie.
