Essex News Ahead Of Ireland Clash

Essex Eagles have named a 13-man squad for their Friends Provident Trophy match against Ireland at Clontarf on Sunday. Opening batsman Alastair Cook has been granted permission by the ECB to play ahead of the Test match against West Indies which starts the following Thursday (squad to be named at 9.30am on Sunday). Alex Tudor is unavailable with an abdominal strain while Darren Thomas is continuing his rehabilitation following a shoulder problem. Ireland will be aiming to bounce back following a 185-run defeat to Gloucestershire Gladiators in the same Dublin venue on Thursday. Play is scheduled to get underway at 10.45am on Sunday with tickets available on the day for 15 Euros (adults) and 7.50 Euros (juniors).
