Fantastic To See James Taylor Doing Well - Hoggard
Cricket World official ambassador Matthew Hoggard is delighted to see his former Leicestershire team-mate James Taylor producing strong form with the bat ahead of the Cricket World Cup.
Taylor has scored two half-centuries in England's last three tri-series One-Day International matches, helping them reach the final, where they will play Australia tomorrow (2nd February).
And Hoggard, who captained Taylor at Leicestershire between 2010 and 2011, is delighted that Taylor is now making the best of what he sees as a long overdue chance to play at the highest level.
"There are only so many times you can knock on the door, and he's knocked on the door often enough...and they've finally realised he is a one-day player," Hoggard says.
He adds that not only is a batsman capable of nudging, nurdling, and hitting big shots, but he also a superb fielder.
"He adds a little bit of excitement into that middle order," Hoggard says.
