Fantasy Cricket Match Predictions Bengal T20 Challenge: East Bengal Club and Kalighat Club Match 17
The 17th match of the Bengal T20 Challenge 2020 will be played between East Bengal Club and Kalighat Club at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
East Bengal have registered a thumping victory over in-form Calcutta Customs Club. Shreevats Goswami has finally come in his own and hit an impressive century in the game. He is one of the most valuable players in the tournament and today he showed why. His 100 runs came in just 71 deliveries. This is the first century being hit in the Bengal T20 Challenge. East Bengal Club has also registered a record for the highest total by a team in the tournament by making 175 runs in 20 overs. None of the odds were in favour of East Bengal Club today but they outclassed Calcutta Customs in all departments.
With the bowl, East Bengal were fantastic. Sujit Kumar Yadav took 3 wickets for his team giving away just 24 runs. Akash Pandey delivered one of the best spells in the tournament and took 2 wickets at the cost of just 12 runs in his 4 overs. The consistent performers for Calcutta Customs, Abhishek Das and Agniv Pan were dismissed for cheap and none of the other batsmen showed any promise to chase the total. East Bengal Club contained them for 121 runs in 20 overs winning match by 54 runs.
This confidence gained from this match should definitely linger in their minds and performance in the next game against Kalighat Club.
Kalighat Club on the other hand have just lost their match against Tapan Memorial Club. Fielding first, Kalighat Club did wonderfully well to keep the opposition to a total of 113 for 4 in 20 overs. However, a careless selection of strokes from Kalighat batsmen lost them the game by 22 runs.
With the ball, Aamir Gani was superb picking up a wicket and gave away only 11 runs in his 4 overs. Pradipta Pramanik bowled economically as usual and finished his spell giving away 17 runs. Bowlers took full use of what the conditions were offering and gave their team a small total to chase.
During the chase, none of the batsmen posed any threat to the opposition. The best strike rate among all the batsmen was 104 of Shubham Chatterjee. This tells the whole story of their sloppy innings. Kalighat ended up making only 91 runs getting beaten by 22 runs.
The dramatic loss against Tapan Memorial Club has severely impacted their winning momentum. They should focus on the basics in the game against East Bengal Club tomorrow to come out winners.
