Fantasy Cricket Match Predictions Bengal T20 Challenge: Town Club v Tapan Memorial Club - Match 10
The 10th match of the Bengal T20 Challenge 2020 will be played between Town Club and Tapan Memorial Club at the Eden Gardens, Kolkata.
Town Club started off extremely well in the tournament by defeating Kalighat Club and East Bengal Club. However, Calcutta Customs applied brakes to this winning momentum by beating them comprehensively in their 3rd outing in the series.
Batting first in the match, Town Club were completely outplayed by their opposition. A very disciplined bowling from Calcutta Customs meant that the innings never gained any sort of momentum. Town Club boasts of many big hitters in their line up but none came good in the match. They were bowled out by the opposition for a paltry 104 runs in 20 overs. Only 3 batsmen could cross the 10 run mark and of them, Kazi Junaid Saifi was the top scorer with 37 runs to his belt.
While chasing the target, Calcutta Customs were not offered any sort of resistance by the bowlers of Town Club and they won the match by 8 wickets. The top bowler for Town Club was Ananta Saha. Despite going wicketless in the match, he bowled economically at a rate of 4.5. Apart from him, none of the bowlers posed any difficulty for the batsmen on a two paced pitch.
Although the momentum has shifted away from Town Club after a surprise defeat, they cannot be underestimated as a team and in all their capacity can bounce back in their 4th game against Tapan Memorial Club.
On the other hand, Tapan Memorial Club has learned from the lessons of the last game and emerged victorious in their 3rd match against Mohan Bagan AC. Batting first, they scored an above par total of 154 for 3 in 20 overs. Carrying their form from the last game, both Sandipan Das Sr. and Shahbaz Ahmed batted beautifully in their partnership stand of 84 runs. Sandipan Das Sr. scored 50 runs while Shahbaz Ahmed made 49 runs in just 34 balls. For Mohun Bagan AC, Writtick Chatterjee bowled superb in the opening phase of the innings but after that, it was simply the Shahbaz Ahmed show.
Given the batting line up that Mohun Bagan possesses, they could have done it with ease but the bowlers of Tapan Memorial club were very well disciplined when it comes to line and length. For them, Ramesh Prasad was the pick of the bowlers and he dismissed 3 batsmen and gave away just 15 runs from his spell of 4 overs. Shahbaz Ahmed was as usual impressive with his spell of 4 overs and bowling at an economy of 5.5.
There are plenty of positives for the Tapan Memorial side to take away into their next game against Town Club.
