Fine wins for England, Pakistan - Cricket World TV

Our final news update video for this week reflects on excellent victories for Pakistan and England in Twenty20 International and Test cricket respectively.

Pakistan opened their T20I series against Sri Lanka with a comprehensive 29-run win in Colombo.

Their experienced side was too strong for the home side, who named four debutants in their starting line-up.

Ahmed Shehzad, Shoaib Malik, Umar Akmal and Sohail Tanvir were the star performers as Pakistan moved one step closer to a hat-trick of series wins in Sri Lanka, having already won the Test series 2-1 and the ODIs 3-2.

In Birmingham, Edgbaston provided the backdrop for a thrilling third Ashes Test that at times moved with the pace of a limited overs match.

England sealed victory inside three days as they confidently chased down 121 to win by eight wickets.

James Anderson and Steven Finn both took six-wicket hauls to put England on course for a 2-1 series lead as local hero Ian Bell cracked a brace of half-centuries.

Unfortunately, no play was possible on day two of the second Test between Bangladesh and South Africa in Dhaka and the home side will try to resume tomorrow on 246 for eight.
