  • Former England cricketer, Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff, has launched a website selling four inch figurines of himself.
  • ‘Four Inch Freddies’ depict Flintoff in several guises, including his famous pose after taking his fifth wicket and bowling Nathan Hauritz at Lord’s in 2009.

Former England cricketer and current broadcaster and TV panellist, Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff has added a new string to his bow and launched a side hustle, joining a growing UK trend of people kick-starting a personal enterprise away from the day job.

The Four Inch Freddies website depicts Freddie in several guises including his famous 2009 pose when he descended on one knee, arms spread like a rock star, after taking his fifth wicket during the second Test at Lord’s in 2009, ending England’s 75-year wait for an Ashes victory at ‘the Home of Cricket’.

In partnership with GoDaddy, the world’s largest cloud platform dedicated to small, independent ventures, and in aid of the mental health charity Mind, who provide advice and support to empower anyone experiencing a mental health problem, Flintoff launched his website selling figurines with 20% of the sale price of the figurines going to the charity.  While Four Inch Freddies isn’t a real business, the figures are available for purchase, for a limited time, on the website.

No stranger to broadening his horizons beyond cricket, other figurines available include Freddie as a chess champion, an interest he has maintained since playing at school and for Lancashire. The Thesp and The One Tenor highlight Freddie’s talent in musical drama, such as his recent appearance in Kay Mellor’s Fat Friends, the Musical. The Thinker is Freddie’s recreation of Rodin’s The Thinker pose.

Freddie Flintoff, former England cricketer said,

“When I’m not jetsetting around the world, I’m making these handsome little fellas which capture me at me best. It’s me but tiny! Four Inch Freddies is my second passion, and they are made with love. Love and 3D printers. 20% of the sale price of the figurines will go to Mind, so the figurines do some real good for a charity close to my heart. A big shout out to GoDaddy UK who helped me from getting this domain to making this website with cool e-commerce features.”

Stefano Maruzzi, Vice President GoDaddy EMEA said,

“Research by GoDaddy has revealed that 20% of UK employees are likely to start a ‘side hustle’ alongside their day job in the next two years. We are delighted that Freddie Flintoff is joining the trend and exploring his creative passions away from his day job. GoDaddy is committed to supporting people looking to explore their entrepreneurial passions.”
