Gloucestershire Cricket have today advertised a newly-created position of Performance Director, together with the role of Head Coach.

These two jobs are open for applications from within and outside cricket and form part of an ambitious Club strategy to compete for honours in all formats of the game, together with producing players for the national teams in the years ahead.

The Performance Director is an exciting new position at Gloucestershire Cricket, leading the cricket department and supporting the whole organisation in delivering the Club’s vision. In particular the successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing Talent Identification and Development and the Performance Management of the talent pathway and elite squads. Sustainable success, winning titles and the development of players ready to play international cricket are vital parts of the role.

The Head Coach is naturally one of the most important jobs at Gloucestershire Cricket and will ensure that players are able to consistently deliver their best cricket for their team, themselves and their country. The Club seeks an inspirational leader who works hard to identify, nurture and develop cricketing talent.

Those appointed in both roles would be looking to deliver on the Club’s stated ambition of winning a white-ball trophy by 2023 and the County Championship by 2025.

Chief Executive of Gloucestershire Cricket, Will Brown, said:

“These two roles are fundamentally important for the success of the Club and we’re really excited to be making this announcement today. For both positions, we’re looking for innovative, excellent communicators who place player welfare and creating the right culture at the heart of their approach.

“As a new position, there is an incredible opportunity for a Performance Director to come in with new ideas to really make their mark and help take us forward as we continue to grow, both on and off the field. They will work closely with a Head Coach, who will ultimately be responsible for creating sustained success on the pitch and across all competitions and formats of the game.

“We very much look forward to seeing a range of applications from within and outside the sport for these roles and expect the field to be high calibre and extremely competitive.”
