Match Summary

Brampton Wolves 200-7

Winnipeg Hawks 201-3

Winnipeg Hawks won by 7 wickets

The Qualifier 2 of Global T20 Canada saw Winnipeg Hawks' bowlers making things difficult for Brampton Wolves to begin with. Rayad Emrit and Kaleem Sana struck early as the Brampton Wolves were reduced to 42-3 in the fifth over.

After the failure of their top order, it was the middle and lower-middle order that fired for Brampton Wolves, taking them to 200.

Quick-fire 30s from Babar Hayat, captain Darren Sammy, Shahid Afridi and Wahab Riaz ensured that the Wolves bowlers had enough to defend. However, it was not to be.

As opposed to the middle order of Brampton Wolves, the top order of Winnipeg Hawks fired with Shaiman Anwar leading the charge with a half-century at a strike rate of 226.

Each of Chris Lynn, Sunny Sohal and Dwayne Smith played substantial knocks. Smith clobbered two sixes off Wahab Riaz in the penultimate over to reduce the equation to 13 required of the last over.

With some luck on their side and the calming influence of JP Duminy (50, 34b), the Hawks stormed into the final with a single of the last delivery.
