
Harish Kumar’s all-round efforts not enough as Madurai Panthers register 33-run win

After losing A Sarath Raj in the fourth over for 21, Madurai Panthers had a 62-run partnership for the second wicket between Arun Karthi and Shijit Chandran. Following a couple of quick wickets, R Mithun and Nilesh Subramanian joined hands to take Madurai Panthers to 172.
Among the Chepauk Super Gillies bowlers, G Periyaswamy and Harish Kumar picked two, while Dev Rahul, R Alexander and Murugan Ashwin picked up one wicket each.
Gopinath looked good to begin with and Chepauk Super Gillies were looking well poised with 77-3 in the 12th over. Despite a fighting half-century from Uthirasamy Sasidev and a quick-fire 23 from Harish Kumar, Super Gillies threatened to chase down the total only for passing stretches, and ultimately fell 33 runs short.
