Royal Challengers Bangalore have replaced injured Sarfaraz Khan with former India Under-19 batsman Harpreet Singh for the remainder of the Indian Premier League campaign.
Sarfaraz suffered the injury during the training session leading to the tournament and was initially reported to miss the initial stages. However, after failing to make satisfying recovery, he has been ruled out of the campaign for the Royal Challengers Bangalore.
Harpreet had a successful Syed Mushtaq Ali Inter-Zonal tournament for Central Zone last year where he finished as the leading run-scorer but was not picked during the auction as he was mistaken for left-arm-spinner Harmeet Singh, who was detained for driving the car on the platform in Andheri railway station.
Harpreet has also represented Kolkata Knight Riders and the now defunct Pune Warriors franchise in the previous editions of the IPL.
Royal Challengers Bangalore are placed sixth in the table with two wins from six games and are slated to take Kolkata Knight Riders next at Eden Gardens on 23rd April.
