The Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers WBBL squads has been penalised for a slow over rates.

The Heat were penalised in their Rebel Women’s Big Bash League match against the Sydney Thunder at Drummoyne Oval on Saturday 19 January 2019.

The Sixers were penalised in their Rebel Women’s Big Bash League match against the Melbourne Renegades at Drummoyne Oval on Saturday 19 January 2019.

Both the Heat and Sixers were found to be 6 minutes behind the scheduled time to complete their 20 overs, after allowances, equating to one over short.

In accordance with the WBBL Playing Conditions, the Brisbane Heat and Sydney Sixers have received an official warning, while captains Ellyse Perry and Kirby Shorty have both received one strike.

The Heat and Sixers accepted the penalties without appeal.
