Heavy rain abandons fourth T20I between India Women and South Africa Women
South Africa Women 130-3 (Lee 58no) v India Women
Fourth Twenty20 International in Centurion
Lizelle Lee and Dane van Niekerk scored half-centuries but rain played spoilsport as the fourth Twenty20 International between India Women and South Africa Women ended without a result in Centurion.
As a result, India continue to lead the series 2-1 with one more game to go.
India won the toss and decided to bowl first. Lee (58 not out) and van Niekerk (55) gave a terrific start scoring 103 runs and in the process plundered eight boundaries and seven sixes between them.
With both the batsmen crossing their respective half-centuries, Deepti Sharma (2-33) accounted for van Niekerk and Sune Luus (5) in successive overs while Poonam Yadav (1-23) removed the dangerous Chloe Tryon (2).
Just as India were gaining momentum having reduced South Africa to 130 for three in 15.3 overs, rain arrived allowing no further play possible as the game ended without a result.
The fifth and final T20I between these two teams will be played on Saturday at Newlands in Cape Town.
