Three days before the start of the inaugural Kia Super League, Hampshire-based Hendy Group have pledged their support to the Southern Vipers, who will now be sponsored by Hendy Kia.

With their base at the Ageas Bowl, the Vipers will be captained by ex-England skipper Charlotte Edwards, and their squad includes overseas internationals Suzie Bates, Sara McGlashan and Morna Nielsen.

Arran Brindle, Lydia Greenway and Tash Farrant complete the line-up of internationally-capped players in the squad, which takes on Surrey Stars in their opening game on Sunday, 31st July.

Hendy Group’s chief executive Paul Hendy says he is delighted the company is showing their support as the sport moves in an exciting new direction.

"We have a long association with supporting cricket in the south and we’re thrilled to be involved at the start of this brand new era in cricket," he said.

"The Kia Super League has been set up to inspire more women and girls play cricket at all levels and that is something we are pleased to support."

Southern Vipers general manager, Bobby Parks added: "We are delighted that the Hendy Group has extended its long standing relationship with Hampshire Cricket by using its Hendy Kia franchise to support our Southern Vipers team in the Kia Super League.

"This is a natural fit, in so many ways and we look forward to working with them as this exciting new competition develops."
