It is finally time for the cricket league which stands for nothing if not entertainment - The Caribbean Premier League 2020 (CPL 2020) kickstarts on August 18, 2020 with your favourite national and international cricket stars set to be seen in action.

The Caribbean Premier League 2020 has clearly dodged a bullet. Had it been scheduled even a month earlier, it is easy to see how tough it would have been for the organisers to host a successful T20 tournament involving several overseas players.

Difficult it still will be, but by hosting all 33 matches in Trinidad & Tobago across two stadiums and behind closed doors, the organisers have ensured that the players are exposed to minimum risk. Due to the severity of the Covid-19 pandemic around the world, a truncated version of the league will be played this time around.

23 matches will be played at The Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba, which will host the first and the last leg of the competition. The first leg will kickstart with the match between Trinbago Knight Riders and Guyana Amazon Warriors on August 18.

The Queen's Park Oval in Port of Spain will host 10 T20 fixtures in the second leg from August 25 to 30. After this, the caravan will move back to Tarouba where it will end with two semis on September 8 and the big final on September 10.
