Hessle Cricket Club are one of the oldest clubs in the Yorkshire region. Founded in 1838 we are in our 176th year and still going strong!
We run three teams on a Saturday throughout the summer based at the picturesque Livingstone Road ground on the banks of the River Humber and in the shadow of the Humber Bridge.
The 1st team will ply their trade in the York senior district leagues under the guidance of Chris Broadley after the recent collapse of the EYCA. The 2nd and 3rd team will be playing in the York conference leagues respectively.
We have recently installed an outdoor net facility and our clubhouse has been refurnished since the Hessle floods which hit us hard. The club is on a real high of late with visions to move this historic club forward in the best interests of everyone at the club.
At Hessle Cricket Club we care passionately about the heritage and great traditions of our beloved sport. Hessle have their own long and proud history in this region and we aim for this to continue for many years to come.
To achieve this we have a simple vision -:
To promote and enjoy the game of cricket within the Hessle community by following some core principles
- Being competitive
- Provide a nurturing environment where talent and enthusiasm can flourish
- Develop and encourage players of all standards and ages
- Encourage players to represent the club with decent behaviours that respect their team mates and the opposition
If you’re as passionate about cricket as us and have these principles at heart, come and join the our community, whether its to play or support.
