England batsman Ian Bell has inked a three-year extension contract with his county side Warwickshire.

Confirming the development, Bell who made his county debut in 1999 seemed extremely happy over the latest contract extension.

“As a Warwickshire man through and through, I’m absolutely delighted to commit to this fantastic club for another three years,” said Bell.

“I have many ambitions I’m still desperate to fulfil, both on a domestic and international level, and I look forward to hopefully achieving these over the coming years as a Bear.

Among Warwickshire players, Bell is the only one to represent England in 100 Tests, a feat he achieved last summer.

The club’s Director of Cricket Dougie Brown also expressed his happiness over retaining Bell for the next three seasons.

While lavishing praises on Bell, Brown expressed gratitude to the 32-year-old for his contribution to Warwickshire over the years.

“Ian is a Bear through and through and he has been a fantastic servant to the club,” said Brown.

“While he continues to play a leading role for England, he is also an invaluable member of our squad who makes a huge contribution on and of the pitch.

“He has been one of the best batsmen in the world for several years and everyone at the club is delighted that he remains a Bear for the foreseeable future.”

Having represented England in 105 Tests, Bell has an aggregate of 7156 runs at an average of 45 with 21 centuries and 42 fifties.
