ICC T20 WC: New Zealand, Afghanistan clash abandoned owing to rain

New Zealand and Afghanistan had to split points as rain ensured that their Group 1 clash did not take off in the ICC Men's T20 World Cup.

At the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) on Thursday, this was meant to be the second clash of the day after the Ireland v England match. But unfortunately as rain washed out the first match early, the second clash did not start on time.

Toss was not possible and eventually at about 930 pm local Melbourne time, the match was called off without a ball being bowled. The two captains could not even step out to toss.
