Game: 4th Match, Group B, Afghanistan vs Scotland

Venue: Bulawayo Athletic Club, Bulawayo

Timings: 07:30 AM GMT / 09:30 AM local

Tournament favourites Afghanistan will hope to begin the ICC World Cup Qualifiers campaign with a victory over Scotland at Bulawayo Athletic Club in the tournament opener.

With Mohammad Shahzad back and an in-form Rahmat Shah at the top order, Afghanistan will be hoping to have a solid platform for the likes of Najibullah Zadran and Mohammad Nabi to launch in the end. Rashid Khan will lead the side in the absence of Asghar Stanikzai and Dawlat Zadran's hat-trick in the warm-up game shows he is still the spearhead of the attack. Mujeeb Zadran is another fantastic find for the talented Afghanistan side, who have made giant strides in international cricket. Samiullah Shenwari and Gulbadin Naib provide the side with the all-round flexibility.

Scotland are a well-balanced side and has an experienced batting line-up with Kyle Coetzer, Calum MacLeod and Richie Berrington while Hampshire seamers Brad Wheal and Chris Sole will join Safyaan Sharif, Stuart Whittingham and Alasdair Evans form the pace attack. Their inexperience in the bowling is sure to be tested in a competitive tournament featuring four Test-playing nations and will be hoping to make the most of the early start moisture in the pitch.

Head to Head Record: The two teams have met each other 11 times with Afghanistan winning seven and Scotland three. One game ended without a result.

Scotland: Kyle Coetzer (captain), Richie Berrington, Matthew Cross, Ali Evans, Michael Jones, Michael Leask, Calum MacLeod, George Munsey, Safyaan Sharif, Chris Sole, Tom Sole, Craig Wallace, Mark Watt, Brad Wheal and Stuart Whittingham
