Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Jamaica Tallawahs
Match abandoned without a ball bowled
24th Match Caribbean Premier League, Guyana

The encounter between the Guyana Amazon Warriors and Jamaica Tallawahs in the Caribbean Premier League had to be called off without a ball being bowled due to incessant rain at the Providence Stadium.

The toss was inevitably delayed due to inclement weather, but the rain showed no signs of letting up as the wait for the play to get underway grew longer.

The rain played a hide and seek game a couple of times, before it relented for a small period, when the covers started coming off.

With the cut-off just about one hour away, the umpires decided to conduct a five-overs-a-side game at 20:21 hrs local time, after an inspection.

The toss was scheduled to be held at 20:55 hrs, but the rain came down almost on cue, bringing down curtains on a promising contest.

Both the teams shared a point each, due to which, Jamaica Tallawahs ascended to second position in the points table, while the Guyana Amazon Warriors still find themselves at the fifth position.
