Ind v NZ 3rd T20I: India make a clean sweep of the series

India completed a clean sweep of their Twenty20 International series against New Zealand with a 73 run win in the third match at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata.
On Sunday night, India after opting to bat posted 184 for seven in their 20 overs and in response New Zealand were bowled out for 111 in 17.2 overs.
India got off to a swift start as captain Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan added 69 in 6.2 overs. Then Sharma took charge of the innings as he finished on 56 off 31 balls with five boundaries and three sixes. There was bit of a collapse as Suryakumar Yadav and Rishabh Pant fell in quick succession. Indian innings was then stabilised by a 36 run stand between Shreyas Iyer and Venkatesh Iyer for the fifth wicket. Towards the end Harshal Patel slammed a quickfire 18 off 11 balls. In the end it was Deepak Chahar's unbeaten 21 off eight balls which helped India finish on 184 for seven.
For New Zealand the chief wicket-taker was stand-in captain Mitchell Santner (3-27).
In their response, New Zealand lost wickets at regular intervals. Only opener Martin Guptill struck 51 off 36 balls with four boundaries and four sixes. But there was no partnership of any kind. Guptill added 39 for the fourth wicket with Tim Seifert. But apart from that there was nothing much to talk about for New Zealand as they lost track of the chase to be bowled out for 111 in 17.2 overs. For India the wicket-takers were Axar Patel (3-9) and Harshal Patel (2-26).
New Zealand made one change to their line-up bringing in Lockie Ferguson for their captain for the series Tim Southee. India made two changes bringing in Ishan Kishan for Lokesh Rahul and Yuzvendra Chahal for Ravichandran Ashwin.
