India A (328-8) defeated England Cricket Board XI (203-10) by 125 runs on the back of Prithvi Shaw's (70) free-flowing knock and Deepak Chahar's (7.5-48-3) bowling.

Batting first, Prithvi Shaw powered India to a good start scoring a classy 70. Despite Mayank Agarwal's (4) quick dismissal, GH Vihari (38) and Shreyas Iyer (54) ensured that a steady base is laid down.
In the lower order, Ishan Kishan (50), Krunal Pandya (34) and Axar Patel (28) capitalised to take India to a mammoth score of 328 for 8 in their stipulated 50 overs.
Apart from Ryan Higgins who picked up 4 wickets in his 10 overs giving away 50 runs, no other bowler could trouble the batsmen.
In reply, ECB XI did not get off to a good start as they lost opener Alex Davies (4) first up. Other opener George Hankins (27) and middle order batsmen Ben Slater (37) and Will Jacks (28) then steadied the inning.
Despite Matthew Critchley's (40) useful contribution, ECB XI could not even reach anywhere close to India A's total as tailenders were wrapped up quite cheaply. Deepak Chahar and Axar Patel bowled well to pick up 3 and 2 wickets respectively.

Deepak Chahar stars with three scalps.
Axar Patel also did well.
Others chipped in well but Prasidh on higher side of economy rate.
Overall, great all round show by India A.

As it turned out, ECB XI fell short of the target by a good 125-run margin as India A started their England campaign on a great note.
